Want, Need, Wear, Read: 2

This week's list is with half an eye on a couple of upcoming trips; I haven't had a holiday in nearly a year so forgive me for getting overexcited and planning ahead whilst we're still in the trenches of February.

Want
I have lived in my white Converse for over a year now, and despite a couple of goes in the washing machine they're starting to look somewhat forlorn. I want some fresh kicks for the Spring and am considering switching brand allegiances to try a pair of classic Keds.

Need
Boring but necessary - an impending trip to Toronto to visit my sister will require an electronic travel authorisation (not a visa, as a British citizen). Avoid the unofficial sites who charge over the odds for not necessarily the right thing and get the correct one here.

Wear
After Canada, I will be setting my sights firmly on a sunny break in Croatia in early summer. It's been far too long since my toes were in the sand, my fingers were wrapped around the stem of a glass of chilled rose and my form was clothed in a chic sundress. I've got this in my shopping basket ready to go.

Read
I have been galloping through books at a rate of around 1 per week since the New Year dawned, and it's been a pleasure to spend my commute time filling my head with beautiful stories. I've recently finished both of Celeste Ng's gorgeous novels, zipped through Dolly Alderton's debut and Leila Slimani's much-hyped dark offering (didn't love it as much as I wanted to) and now I'm onto Sarah Waters' back catalogue, which is a total joy. However, I'm looking forward to September when I can get my hands on a copy of Stuart Turton's debut, The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. What a fabulous title, and there's nothing like a murder mystery to herald the start of Autumn and the advent of closed curtains, candles and squashy sofas.  Just lock the door behind you and try not to mistake the tapping of a branch on the window for an unwanted guest...
